This weekend Lissa and I went to Austin to watch our friend Amanda and her friend Bekah run in the SGK Race of the Cure. It was extremely touching to see 25,000 men, women, children and doggies come together for a cause. To see all of the survivors that were there running and walking was so awesome! I also really enjoyed reading everyone's "In Memory Of..." cards pinned to their backs. When the lady started singing the star spangled banner, I had to fight back tears. Everyone got silent and placed their hands over their hearts. It was a very touching moment. Especially when your life has been affected by someone suffering with cancer-not just breast cancer. It was a very neat moment indeed.
I also enjoyed hanging out in a different environment and trying new places to eat and shop. We ate at the Magnolia Cafe, Hula Hut, and had hot tea at Mozart's. We also ate this delightful pizza somewhere on Guadalupe St. I had a great time. It was just the right amount of time to be gone. I will definitely "do Austin" again...ifyouknowwhatimean. :)
pictures to come.

I didn't know you had a blog! Now I am all excited! So glad you had a good and rewarding trip to Austin... glad you are back safely. I'm adding you to my friends, is that ok? I really do just get too excited when my friends get blogs, I'm a dork.
i have only had it a couple of weeks, and i'm being shy about letting people know. but i want people to read it. yeah, please add me! how do I add a friend list like you have? the closest thing i could find was a blog gadget, but it's not the same, and it's not even displaying correctly at the moment.
I'm glad you had fun!! :) We missed you at Crash.
