Saturday I finished my first week of running. It felt really good to accomplish that. It was a beatutiful day, sunny and bright. The temperature was another story. It was 32 degrees when I left for my run. When I turned the corner on midway, the high wind hit me square in the face. I couldn't get any air to go into my nostrils because it was blowing by so hard. Then tears started coming out of my eyes because the dry air was slamming into them. FInally, my nose started to run. I had to blow it on my sweatshirt. That was not pleasant. That bad wind only lasted for about 2 mintes, and then I turned the corner again. From then on, it was an enjoyable run. I really didn't want to run on the treadmill because it was such a pretty day outside. I'm glad I went outside.
Week 2 is going to be harder, but I think I'm ready for it. I have been doing other workouts between running days, and so it's been a good mix.
This is also the last week before life gets crazy busy. Classes start back up at DBU. I have to take two classes at once this semester, which is something new to me. I don't want to spend my weekends doing reading and assignments, so I'm going to have to work hard to study on some weeknights.
I'm really lazy. I hope I will be dedicated to working on some weeknights, because when push comes to shove, I will do anything else but study. I'll make an emotional decision rather than a logical one. Then I will use my weekends to do my work, and be mad at myself. I'm just going to have to plug in the headphones, turn up the JAMZ, and get busy even when I want to do other things.
