Christmas was quasi-nice this year. We all got up and showered and got dressed for the 2nd year in a row. It's beginning to be a nice tradition. No one smells, we can talk to each other without worrying about catching a whiff of someone else's morning breath...just purely sweet smells. We ate breakfast around 10:30 and then talked for awhile. We opened up the presents around 11:30. I think that is the latest we've ever waited. Proof positive that no one really cares that much about the presents anymore.
I got my dad a wine chiller with 33 different wines programmed in. You just choose the type of wine (red, white, champagne) and then the type (merlot, pinot noir, etc) and the little machine knows what temperature to chill the wine to! Nathan got Vans from me. Mom got a brown and cream houndstooth scarf and brown leather gloves. She has been wanting a houndstooth scarf for a long time, and I finally found one.
I got new pajamas and slippers. Very comfy! I also got a gift card to Banana Republic, my favorite store. I got diamond earrings from my mom and dad, which I was surprised to get! They are very pretty! I got a cheese grater. Now I know that's kind of a strange gift, but I did ask for one. It's cheaper and tastes better when cheese is grated by hand rather than the bags of pre shredded cheese. I should know-I keep Kraft in business! I also like to cook and bake. So there you have it. Papa and Aunt Shelley both sent me some money, which was very nice.
Finally, I would like to leave you with a few pictures from the day:
Me in the morning before the festivities began.
Nathan in the morning-I was forcing him to pose.
This is Carter, my mom's poodle. He is so good!
Look at those legs! What a sweet puppy!
In the words of my brother Nathan when he was a small lad, "Very Christmas!"
I hope you had a great day with your family and friends today!
